The Problem
A Bakery Built on Tradition But Missing a Digital Foundation
Bella’s Bakery had served its community for over 20 years without an online presence. With no website or central hub, customers couldn’t explore the bakery’s offerings or learn about its story in a meaningful way.
Limited Online Reach
Customers lacked a single place to browse products, learn the bakery’s story, or explore offerings easily.
Unclear Product Layout
Pastries had no clear grouping or visual context, leaving visitors unsure about categories or varieties.
No Brand Identity
Without clear branding, the bakery struggled to express who they are or stand out from competitors online.
Designing an Intuitive, User-Centered Information Architecture for a Scalable Bakery Experience
The goal was to build a foundation rooted in clarity and cultural authenticity. I mapped user journeys, created an information architecture that organizes dozens of pastries into digestible categories, and prioritized visuals to reflect the bakery’s warmth. This structure prepares the site for future features like online ordering, product filtering, and a loyalty program.

Nunc facilisis malesuada urna in interdum. Integer massa enim, tincidunt at fermentum nec, accumsan quis nibh."

Key Insights That Shaped the Experience
During discovery, it became clear that Bella’s Bakery needed more than just a visually appealing website—they needed structure. With dozens of pastries, seasonal items, and cultural recipes, customers were struggling to understand what the bakery offered and why each item was meaningful. There was no central place where the brand’s story, product variety, or heritage could come together in a cohesive way.

UX research also revealed opportunities to introduce clearer content hierarchy, consistent branding, and stronger storytelling. These insights helped guide decisions around navigation, product categorization, and visual direction, building a foundation that supports both present-day browsing and the bakery’s long-term shift toward e-commerce.
Translating Research Into Wireframes and Structure
Using the insights gathered, I created high-fidelity wireframes that clarified how customers would move through the site. Each layout emphasized simplicity, familiarity, and warmth—mirroring the in-store experience. Content blocks were arranged to highlight product variety, tradition, and freshness, while keeping the interface clean and intuitive for all users.
Evolving the Visual Direction With Cultural Warmth
Once the structure was set, I began shaping the visual identity. The design draws from traditional Mexican textures, warm color palettes, and soft shadows to create an inviting feel. Each UI component was crafted to let the pastries shine while maintaining consistency across pages and device sizes.
Designing a Product-First Experience
The interface highlights each pastry with clear imagery, thoughtful spacing, and accessible text. The structure supports both learning and browsing—whether a customer wants to explore cultural favorites or quickly scan product categories.
Nesting these designs within a flexible grid system ensures the website can scale gracefully as more products, seasonal items, and future e-commerce features are introduced.
